Yes, I will be starting on this soon.

A new binary preview is now available from the project download page. Debug symbol files can also now be downloaded from http://www.magpcss.net/cef_symbols/.

Hello Marshall,

I've got a question:

Will Off-Screen rendering of CEF3 support accelerated compositing and GPU acceleration once it is implemented?

Thanks.

Accelerated compositing will probably not be supported in the initial version but perhaps in the future. Accelerated compositing primitives are tied to the underlying implementation which makes the usage more complicated. We could perhaps turn the composited texture back into a pixel array but the performance consequences may not be worthwhile. More likely the client and CEF would need to share a texture (either OpenGL or D3D as required by the underlying implementation).

The first binary release of CEF3 will be based on the Chromium 1155 branch (Chromium version 21). The list of remaining issues that I'm planning to include in this first release is: http://code.google.com/p/chromiumembedd ... bel%3ACEF3. Target date for this release is currently the end of June.

It would be really great to have PDBs available for all binaries that you produce. Is that a feature request?

I build with VS2010. The PDBs are available here: http://www.magpcss.net/cef_symbols/

Version 3.1180.719 has been released using the Chromium 1180 branch. See the project main page for release notes.

is there a way to build it with Visual Studio Basic Express 2010?

Yes, you should be able to build with VS 2010 Express. Instructions are available here: http://code.google.com/p/chromiumembedd ... ndBuilding

Hi Marshall,

Is there a new estimated date when Off-Screen rendering will be added to CEF 3?

Thanks.
