Mac 10.9.1 : CEF 1650 : GPU helper process not responding

When I launch 1650 cefclient on Mac 10.9.1 and open activity monitor I see the the message that the GPU helper process is not responding. However animations seem to run fine. I have attached the screenshot. The GPU helper process was spanned as follows:

I was intending to investigate this issue and--if I can fix it--submit a patch. Do you have any idea about what area to look for? Or if it is a non-critical error since it does not seem to affect the browser rendering or animations.

I think this issue may have been fixed in subsequent patches to 1650 on Chromium : https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issu ... 304860#c96
1650 CEF branch currently uses 31.0.1650.59, Can we upgrade to 31.0.1650.69 ? I wanted to validate it by manually changing the chromium version in CEF. What is the procedure to upgrade to .69 in CEF 1650 branch?

See the BranchesAndBuilding wiki page. Just download .69 insead of .59 and it will likely build without CEF changes.

I am actually seeing this with 3.1846.1637 (chromium 34.0.1846) - and it is fixed in Chrome 33 (maybe also 32). Just need to run cefclient in Mavericks (using 10.9.2 at the moment).

@nvine: Did updating the 1650 branch Chromium version resolve the issue for you?

I tried with cefclient for 1750 and the issue is still reproducible. I think its a false negative, since the animations work fine and the "Recent Hangs" in activity monitor increments periodically. Referring to http://lists.apple.com/archives/unix-po ... 00032.html, its the delay in responding to "ping" AppleEvents.

This issue appears to be resolved with the update to Chromium revision 261035 / CEF revision 1641 (tested with OS X 10.9.2). A new build should be available on http://cefbuilds.com in a few days. Please report back if you're still having this issue with that build.

Did you have the CR or patch for what fixed this in that revision of chromium? I'm interested to see if it's simple enough to patch our cefv1650 build to use it.
