No mouse cursor loading indicator during loading of a page

Postby Czarek » Thu Aug 14, 2014 9:20 am

Since Chromium started using Aura, the mouse cursor does not indicate that browser is loading a webpage. In all branches starting from 1750 up to trunk, when running cefclient I see an empty window for a few seconds with no idea whether it's loading or crashed. It's a bad user experience. There is an Issue in Chromium tracker about that:

https://code.google.com/p/chromium/issu ... ?id=133039

But aside from that, are there any plans to fix it in CEF without waiting for Chromium? It looks like it might take them a year or so to fix it.

That sounds like a long time. Perhaps you're waiting for proxy resolution? You can try one of the suggestions from https://code.google.com/p/chromiumembed ... Resolution.

I'm not complaining about loading time. It's the mouse "busy" cursor that I'm missing :-)

Yeah, having the cursor back would be nice. As stated in the Chromium issue patches are welcome ;).

I have a fix for mouse cursor loading indicator on Windows. A few calls to SetCursor, GetCursor, LoadImage and SetTimer. See the fix in PHP Desktop: https://github.com/cztomczak/phpdesktop ... 06ca0f6488

Works pretty well :)
