Problem with 3.1750.1738 on Snow Leopard

Postby MaNI » Wed Sep 17, 2014 4:54 pm

I recently tried to upgrade to the latest CEF.
Testing with cefsimple application everything is working fine on newer versions of OSX but on Snow Leopard CEF only repaints itself after I resize the window (and then doesn't paint itself at all again until next resize etc. etc.)
So to be clear if I e.g. click in an input box and type no UI interaction happens, but if I then resize the window it will show what I have typed.

I am quite urgently needing a fix for this, any ideas of what might cause such behaviour?

How does 3.1916 and 3.2062 behave on Snow Leopard?

Can't get 2062 to compile, whole host of compile issues.
Will try 1916 now.

1916, also a bunch of compile issues (mostly to do with drag and drop code) - once I fix those and get it compiling it has th e same issue, only paints when resizing.

Are you actually building on Snow Leopard, or building on something newer and targeting the 10.6 SDK?

The drag&drop build errors are https://code.google.com/p/chromiumembed ... il?id=1311.

Building on snow leopard, can confirm that 2062 has the same issue once built.
Is building on something newer and targetting 10.6 likely to have different results?

It's possible. Did you try running one of the binary distributions from cefbuilds.com? You'll need to fix the same drag&drop errors in cefclient but the included Chromium Embedded Framework.framework is built on a newer OS X version.

I'm already using e.g. "cef_binary_3.2062.1835_macosx32.7z" is this what you mean or do you mean something else, not sure if I follow 100% here...

That's the binary distribution (just cefclient & cefsimple application). It's fine to build that on 10.6.

Unfortunately I don't personally have a 10.6 install to test with. I'll ask around to see if anyone else is having problems.

Hrm, have tried now on a second clean machine and it works fine on that machine, so it may be something specific to the machine.
