I had noticed that when we browse from one domain to another, the existing helper process is terminated and a new helper process is created. Are there any other rules which govern this behavior? Is it controllable?

Yes, see http://www.chromium.org/developers/desi ... ess-models. Note that the alternate models may not fully implemented and/or tested with CEF.
