Printing SilverLight content from cef3 browser

Postby Meghavi » Thu Nov 20, 2014 11:44 am

Hi,

We are loading silverlight webpages in cef3 browser, but printing them using the cef3 print api results in blank page, whereas printing the same in ie works fine.

Would you know if there is something we need to do to print silverlight page using cef3?

Thanks,
Meghavi

Have you tested with latest CEF version from cefbuilds.com which now uses PDF for printing support? See https://code.google.com/p/chromiumembed ... il?id=1313

Yes i did test with 2171 branch and i see the same issue

This is what i tried
With cefclient.exe, navigate to http://demos.telerik.com/silverlight/
Try printing this page and you would see a blank page getting printed

Does printing this page work in Google Chrome?

No it does not.

Wanted to understand the reason behind this & any possible solutions that you could suggest to print silverlight pages hosted in cef browser

It might work if you use a windowless silverlight object since then the browser is aware of the plugin contents. Otherwise, I would guess that IE and Silverlight use some secret API since they're both Microsoft products.
