Flash stopped working properly after upgrade.

Postby Tsury » Tue Mar 31, 2015 4:28 am

Hey..

I just upgraded from 3.1650.15 to 3.2272.2035, and suddenly Flash is not working.
I noticed that I have a flash plugin process, pointing to the correct flash DLL (--type=plugin --plugin-path="C:\WINDOWS\SysWOW64\Macromed\Flash\NPSWF32_17_0_0_134.dll").

When I visit this test site, http://terrillthompson.com/tests/youtube.html
videos 4, 5, 6, 7, 8 (which are flash players) are not working.

It happens for instance in twitch.tv videos and embedded youtube flash videos.

I have no idea how to start and debug this. Can I supply you any additional information that will help you diagnose this issue?

Thank you very much.

Edit: After some searching I seem to not be the only one: viewtopic.php?f=6&t=12679
Edit2: I don't know if it helps but I checked it using Chromium 41.0.2241.0 and it is working.

I tried downgrading to 2171 and flash works just fine without changing a thing in my code - this seems to be a CEF issue. Can you help me look at it please?
I will work with 2171 for now,

Thanks!

Sorry, no. NPAPI Flash is no longer supported in CEF. A PPAPI Flash implementation has been added in https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/ ... in-support.

Thanks, but I can't get it to work.

I just downloaded 3.2272.2077, installed the PPAPI flash and passed the enable-system-flash flag but nothing is happening - no process is created.

It has not been added to 2272 branch, only master.

Ok, so this means I have to wait for the next version if I don't want to use trunk.
Thanks.

I am actually experiencing the same issue, but on the 2171 version! Can't really get Flash working on cefclient executable here. Strace output says nothing about flash or whatever. My system is 64-bit Ubuntu 14.10 with installed flashplugin-installer package.

With [ 3.2272.1998 ], NPAPI is working for us. This is confusing since the Adobe site Flash download needed is the Firefox one.

To switch to PPAPI, we would just need to get the latest 2272.x source and build CEF?

Is there an exact commit (cef or chromium) that removes NPAPI support?
