XReparaneting vs of-screen rendering

Postby ratin3 » Wed Apr 20, 2016 7:39 pm

I am trying to embed CEF into a particular child window of my application , which uses X lib on Linux (Ubuntu 14.04). Ideally if I could pass an windowID on which the cef renderer operates on would be the ideal solution. The other alternative is to get a hold of the window (ClientWindowHandle ?) and use XReparentWindow to render on the target window. Now I have tried another simpler version of CEF client from http://blog.erikd.org/2013/01/14/chromi ... are-bones/ , and XReparentWindow gives me a BadRequest return code even though all parameters passed in at perfect and populated properly. So I want to give cefclient_gtk a shot, just wondering anybody ever tried to do this, and if anybody have any opinion on using the most efficient solution, and whether or not off-screen rendering is a possibility.

Thanks
