how to guarantee using a specific version of visual studio

Postby tixu » Thu Feb 09, 2017 6:16 pm

Hi, if I have multiple versions of visual studio installed, how do I make sure that CEF is built with tools from a specific version? I'm trying to build CEF version 53 (branch 2785), and I have both visual studio 2013 and visual studio 2015 installed on my local machine. Is setting environment variable GYP_MSVS_VERSION=2015 (even though I set CEF_USE_GN=1) sufficient? Thanks!

If you are building CEF/Chromium from source code then specific Visual Studio and Windows SDK versions are required as specified at https://bitbucket.org/chromiumembedded/ ... uilding.md. If you have the required versions installed then do not set GYP_MSVS_VERSION and the required version will be used.

If you are building using a CEF binary distribution then specify the Visual Studio version on the CMake command-line.
