Chromium/CEF/JCEF commercial usage

Postby Phylanx » Mon Feb 20, 2017 2:37 am

Hi!

We more or less successfully integrated JCEF into our product with some smaller issues still to fix.
We are satisfied so far with what we've got, but today checking new posts in this forums, I get to read this post:

viewtopic.php?f=6&t=13863&start=10#p33914

Are there any parts of chromium that we have to disable on build due to legal issues?
We don't want to use software we aren't legally allowed to use, can somebody help us with these questions?
Or is there some documentation what we have to do to use CEF for commercial use?

// EDIT:
For now we're using version 3.2704, also we adapted some files, so we can use PDFium on Windows:
viewtopic.php?f=17&t=14161
(explicitly remove the "--disable-extensions" flag in ClientApp::OnBeforeCommandLineProcessing).

The standard CEF binary distribution can be used in commercial applications with or without changes provided you comply with the terms of the license.

ok, thank you for your response! :-)
So that means we're legal with using Chromium/CEF/JCEF, building the sourcecode ourselves and also with adapting changes on the code for fixing issues we have?
Even if these fixes lie in pdfium?

Generally speaking, yes. However, you should consult a lawyer if you require a legal opinion on your particular circumstances.
