CEF gfx HW acceleration issue with Nvidia drivers

Postby hexaae » Sun Feb 25, 2018 6:07 am

CEF based tools (e.g. Google Chrome browser, GeForce Experience, GOG Galaxy client, etc.) seem to have some issues with Nvidia drivers WDDM2.3 and Windows 10 FCU.
Has already reported on Nvidia forum when gfx HW acceleration is enabled for programs using CEF, the GUI appears blurry, with wrong colors etc.

E.g. (GeForce Experience, Chrome browser, GOG Galaxy)

The problem is reproducible for users without Intel IGP, using only the discrete gfx card GPU and no advanced Optimus power-saving mode with IGP <-> GPU auto-switch.

Other users on GOG Galaxy forums confirmed the same issue with corrupt GUI rendering, now that even that switched to latest (?) CEF and enabled gfx HW acceleration by default.

GPU issues may be resolved by updating to the latest CEF version.
Alternatively to disable GPU acceleration in CEF pass "--disable-gpu" and "--disable-gpu-compositing" flags.

It's a problem with Anisotropic Filter as reported here on Nvidia forum too:

I hope someone at Nvidia or CEF dev will do something to fix this issue...
