How can I figure out why something doesn't work?

Postby makeshyfttom » Wed Oct 23, 2019 8:37 pm

Hi, I'm building an application with a CEF Browser embedded into it. It mostly works great.... no h264 drives me nuts, but thats ok.

However when I visit radio.garden I am unable to connect to any of the stations.

Does anyone know how can I learn the reason for it?

Thanks,

Tom

What does the DevTools console tell you?

I tried that page with the latest CEF and I could hear almost all of the radio stations in my country.

Just a few of them showed a "station is unresponsive..." warning text.

Hi Guys, my development tool is livecode .... but unfortunately there is no console built in for the browser.

I'm definitely not able to listen to any stations.

It must be that particular build they use. Maybe its codec related.

:( sigh

Try the latest "Sample Application" available at Spotify :
http://opensource.spotify.com/cefbuilds/index.html

Run cefclient and load any YouTube video to make sure you can hear the audio in that computer.

If everything is ok then try the web page you mentioned and select any big city in Spain. You will hear 90% of the stations or more after a few seconds.

Most of the radio stations in Internet use the MP3 codec included in CEF. Only a fraction of them use proprietary codecs like AAC.

Edit : MP3 support was added to CEF in March 2018 with CEF 3.3325.1746.ge81cdf2. Check that you use a newer CEF version.
