Brackets.io, CEF and hardware acceleration

Postby java » Fri Nov 06, 2015 1:30 pm

I’m running Brackets v1.5 on OS X v10.9.5 (built on CEF)...love it!

I do have a multiple monitor setup and due to various flakiness in the graphics drivers in OS X (that can cause kernel panics), I need graphics “hardware acceleration” turned off generally speaking. Doing s, in Chrome, Firefox, etc., is easy to do via their preferences.

Since brackets uses the chromium framework internally, any way to ALSO specify brackets to NOT use hardware acceleration ? Is there a preference or tweak I can do inside the Brackets.app folder (via explore contents which allows me to dig into the binary)..

This is usually done by passing the `--disable-gpu` command-line flag. However, I don't know if Brackets supports command-line flags. You should probably ask on a support forum for that project.
