Admin prompt needed to build on windows?

Postby bpant » Wed Jan 23, 2013 1:28 pm

My experience has been that MSVC 2020 build was crashing all the time, and same from Visual Studio, when trying to follow instructions here, after having setup the chromium requirements for building.

So after a period of trial and error, I thought I would try using an admin console instead of the usual one, and the crashes went away. Is this an unspecified requirement, or did I miss it if it is documented somewhere?

Looks like I am unblocked for compilation at least, so this is more of a question than a bug report or enhancement.

On to higher grounds now...

I have not seen this particular problem with Windows 7 pro or Windows 8 pro. Perhaps there's something special about your setup (corp restrictions, etc)?
