Network stuck in app using 3809?

So... removing the --url="$(pwd)/.git" seems to have fixed the problem?!

This is confusing and inconvenient. There was only one patch, it just added a ci directory, diff -ur doesn't find any other differences, and this worked up to 3497... so it's kind of hard to believe that was really it. I'm running out of time to find the real cause, though.

If it's really not ok to avoid the remote checkout:
I guess I can rework my build script.
It's just very strange to not be able to build from the local git tree;
it means I have to tie myself in knots to do try builds.
But that's the price I pay for using the nice automated build script, I guess.

Update: widening my diff, I see differences now, e.g. in chromium/src/cef/include/cef_version.h
