Skype Mic/Webcam Permission issue

Postby edgardog » Mon Dec 02, 2019 9:27 am

Hi,
I'm using branch 3945 (chrome 79) and I'm having issues using https://web.skype.com
The issues are not specific for this branch... they started about 9 months ago when skype changed something on their end.
When you go to settings it says it does not have permissions to access microphone or webcam.
I test with a WebRTC troubleshooter (http://test.webrtc.org ) and everything is fine.

Anyone had any luck running skype with CEF branch 3945?
Other webrtc service (like jitsi) work fine, but skype does not.

Best Regards,
Edgardo
Ps: I am using the --enable-media-stream .. without this when using test.webrtc.org the test fails saying NotAllowedError: Permission Denied
So the flag is working for webrtc test, but not for skype

There were reports that some js APIs don't work with CEF. There was a PR sent that might work around the issue, but I don't think it was merged yet.

I tried adding: --use-fake-ui-for-media-stream
This was posted on viewtopic.php?f=6&t=15794

That seems to fix web skype issue.
