On my side, the issue is directly related to the llvm-build version:
- clang-llvmorg-12-init-10217-g35be65cb-1 is working correctly
- clang-llvmorg-12-init-10666-gc9f69ee7-1 is not working and always returns a permission error/lib failed error

Using procmon, I can see that the temporary file is correctly created/written, the error is raised when lld-link want to rename the temporary file into the final name, for no obvious reason.

While I don't use network drive, I suspect https://reviews.llvm.org/rG79657e2339b5 ... 73d57d90bb to have created the issue because the error seems to be raised inside the added code (realPathFromHandle/GetFinalPathNameByHandleW).

My build host is still using Windows 7, as recommended in the Wiki. Is it still recommended/supported ? Does someone know if the build hosts from https://cef-builds.spotifycdn.com/ are still using Windows 7 ?

Thanks.

What Wiki are you referring to? Win 10+ build system is required according to BranchesAndBuilding.

My bad. I have not paid enough attention to the "Win 7+ deployment, Win 10+ build system" requirement and wrongly assumed that Win7 was still supported.
